Moh Has Warned Of The Dangers Of Misuse Of Antibiotics
The Director of Infection Prevention Department at the Ministry of Health, Dr Ahmed Al-Mutawa, has warned of the dangers of misuse of antibiotics, while appreciating the decision of the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Basel Al-Sabah to reconstitute the National Committee for the rational use of antibiotics, to keep up with the global recommendations and face challenges in the field of antibiotics and the spread of resistant germs, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Mutawa said in a press statement on the sidelines of the announcement of the launch of the national campaign for the optimal use of antibiotics, he said, the Department of Infection Prevention has taken the first steps in the committee work to conduct field surveys of all hospitals in the State of Kuwait to evaluate the supervision programs on the use of antibiotics.
He explained the results of studies showed that 83 percent of hospitals and government health centers in the State of Kuwait have policies on antibiotics, and includes all types of antibiotics, the appropriate dose, the number of uses and duration of treatment, rates ranging between 76 to 97 percent.
On the other hand, the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Al-Adan Hospital, Dr Abeer Al-Thaidi, revealed that the team of endoscopy unit in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Al-Adan Hospital conducted 25 minimally invasive and uterine laparoscopic procedures, with the participation of the visiting consultant from India, Dr Harish Fazazia, a specialist in gynecology.
Meanwhile,A patient suffering from a severe heart attack was rescued by doctors at the Al-Dabbous Center for Cardiology at Al-Adan Hospital, reports Al-Rai daily.
