Moh Investigate The Use Of Disposable Syringes In Hospitals And Health Centers

Ministry of Health has opened an investigation into the use of disposable syringes (2 parts 10 ml) in hospitals and health centers which reportedly do not meet the specifications, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting reliable health sources.

The same sources said the issue is of special interest to Minister of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harbi who has said time and again that the health of a human being is a red line that cannot be crossed. He is said to have stressed that anyone found guilty will be dealt with accordingly within days. He also reportedly said appropriate action will be taken in the case of syringes after listening to all concerned parties.

The sources pointed out, the file is in the Office of the Minister and that all options are on the table including referring the case to the Public Prosecution. Sources said the local agent who supplied these syringes will be summoned to discuss the observations that have been made.

The minister added the supply of medicines and medical equipment is subject to strict procedures by the concerned departments. And, Director-General of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources Faisal Al-Hassawi has issued a decision to ban fishing by net dragging in Kuwait’s territorial waters from Jan 1, 2018 until further notice, reports Al- Rai daily. The decision was taken upon a request from the Environment Public Authority to protect the environment in public interest.
