Moh Tightens Screws On Overseas Treatment Needs

The Ministry of Health formed a team that will look into financial allocations for overseas treatment and address problems after the Cabinet rejected the request to increase the budget of the ministry, in addition to the request to reimburse expenses for the treatment of students and executive expenses taken from the overseas treatment allotment.

On the other hand, the ministry has laid down regulations on the scholarships for employees as follows:

■ Applications for master’s and doctorate degree scholarships must be submitted to the rapporteur of the Scholarships Review Committee (director of the Public Professions Department) from Jan 1 to April 30 or from Oct 1 to Nov 30.

â–  Applicants must be Kuwaitis and not more than 40 years old.

â–  Applicants must submit their latest photos.

â–  The last two performance ratings of applicants should be excellent.

■ Applicants must be in service for two years after obtaining a bachelor’s degree if they majored in technical courses and four years if they majored in administrative courses.

â–  Applicants must submit a letter of admission from the universities they intend to enroll in.

■ The bachelor’s degree mark of applicants should be ‘very good’ or higher.

â–  Applicants must pass the English test.

■ The chosen course and university must be included in the Academic National Accreditation list. Meanwhile, the diploma and bachelor’s degree holders who want to apply for study leave should submit their applications to the rapporteur of the Scholarships and Study Leave Committee from Jan 1 to April 30 or from Oct 1 to Nov 30.

The study leave applicants should be Kuwaitis, not more than 50 years old, the secondary and diploma marks should be ‘good’ or 70 percent or higher, applicants must submit their latest photographs, and the last four performance ratings should be ‘excellent’.
