Moi Decided To Cancel The Police Hospital Project
After years of attempts made by the Ministry of Public Works to float the tender for the police hospital project, the Ministry of Interior decided to cancel the project saying it is the owner and the beneficiary of it.
An official source at the Ministry of Public Works said the Ministry of Interior has decided to cancel the project from the 2017/2018 development plan at the request of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, the Minister of State for Economic Affairs. She requested to cancel the project and substitute it by the health insurance to cover police employees.
The source confirmed the Ministry of Public Works will work to stop the procedures of the project which had a capacity of 500 beds according to its design, revealing the design agreement of the hospital cost two-and-a-half million dinars.
The source pointed out the ministry had completed the special procedures in the process of qualifying the contractors wishing to win the contract, which was expected to cost about 250 million dinars, after coordinating with the Ministry of Interior to determine the requirements and the special specifications of the hospital.
