Moi Has Outlined Task Force Set Up To Counter Drifters
The Ministry of Interior has outlined its plan to combat recklessness on the streets of Kuwait and confront repeated attacks on security personnel, reports Al-Rai daily.
The ministry said, it has formed a task force consisting men from all security sectors who have been instructed to work around the clock in a team spirit to protect the prestige of security. It has been reported at any given time more than one police patrol is expected to reach a ‘trouble spot’.
A security source said, the incidents of recklessness that have spread intensely in recent days when the perpetrators tried to undermine the status of the security men, has prompted the senior officials in the Interior Ministry to address the issue and put it to rest once and for all.
The sources added, the task force includes personnel from all sectors of public security including the Directorate- General of Criminal Investigation, the Directorate-General of the Patrols of the rescue police, the Special Forces, the Directorate-General of Investigation, and the General Administration of Supervision and Inspection
. The task force will work under the umbrella of the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior. The source added, “Three patrols from each assigned from each sectors to join the anti-recklessness squad, in addition to 150 Special Forces personnel who will be trained to deal with traffic-related work.
This is in addition to investigators who will be working around the clock to investigate cases of recklessness and assault on securitymen. The sources added, all the participating field personnel are subject to follow-up and security control by the General Administration of Supervision and Inspection to ensure the success of the collective system according to the plan that has been developed. The sources added, some sectors have started their field work and begun their fight against recklessness.
