Moi Has Put In Place An Integrated Security Plan To Protect The Places Of Worship
The Ministry of the Interior has put in place an integrated security plan to protect the places of worship during the Eid Al-Adha festival, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Ministry of Interior said personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department , the Public Security Departments, the General Traffic Department and Rescue patrols are part of the plan.
A security source according to the plan security personnel will guard the worship places including some open areas such as the schools belonging to the Ministry of Education and sports arenas and sports centers belonging to the Public Authority for Sport and Youth.
The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has allocated 29 mosques for this year’s Eid Al-Adha prayers — five in the Capital, six in Ahmadi, five in Hawalli, six in Jahra, five in Farwaniya and two in Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorates.
The source pointed out the security plan stresses on the adherence to vigilance and readiness to take a number of measures and security precautions, readiness of the police with whatever is at their disposal. Each police patrol will consist of a police officer (lieutenant) and a policeman who will insist on commitment to laws and regulations of the Interior Ministry in force concerning appearance, discipline and presenting the ID when asked.
The source said security forces will be stationed at vital points in different areas to ensure smooth law and order during Eid prayers at all worship places. Meanwhile, the security and traffic patrols will continue to maintain law and order throughout the Eid holidays, in all areas, including markets and commercial malls.
The source added instructions have been given to police patrols to carry with them the automated fingerprint devices to be used in all cases whenever deemed necessary, especially to run a check on those who do not carry personal identification documents.
This is in addition to preparing periodic reports from the mini operating rooms linked to the Central Operations Room, and to report any incidents or cases of suspicion and to deal with them according to security instructions and procedures.
