More Expats May Lead Imbalance In Demography

09 September 2015 Kuwait

A study made by King Fahad Security College’s Research and Studies Center recently said that the increase of expatriate labor numbers leads to an imbalanced demography in various GCC states. The study added that such increases may lead to conflicts with natives and negatively affect national identity. “One of the main reasons for such a phenomenon is the sponsorship system as some sponsors take advantage of laborers forcing some to criminally react,” the study warned urging GCC states to cancel sponsorship or restrict it, review their citizenships and replace foreign expats with Arabs.
