Mosal Screens Process Of All Benefits Allowances
Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare Affairs at Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Sheikha Al-Adwani affirmed that the ministry, based on directives of the Council of Ministers concerning rationalization of expenditures in ministries and all state agencies, has begun the screening process of all benefits and allowances that the ministry disburses to its employees, reports Aljarida daily.
She said the process is being carried out to assess and examine the scope of merit of these disbursements, and determine whether they are deserved or not. Al-Adwani highlighted that the process so far has uncovered shift allowance disbursements to some undeserving employees. She affirmed the correctness of the screening process, stressing that it was in the interest of distinguished employees who perform their work with all sincerity and honesty. She added that it encourages them to exert more efforts and at the same time, motivate their colleagues to emulate them.
Al-Adwani lamented that her sector lacks specialized technical staff qualified to deal with inmates especially in the juvenile and family custody. She said the current staff does not tally with the number of inmates, due to which efforts are currently ongoing to solve the problem by increasing the work incentives in the two departments.
Al-Adwani explained that placing parents in the elderly care facility is not a phenomenon at all in the society, as there are 27 elderly residents (12 men and 15 women) in the elderly home, and nine of them are Kuwaitis. It is worth mentioning that there are 53,000 elderly people in total in Kuwait.
