Mp Demands Probe Into Concerning The Murder Of A Kuwaiti Citizen

After a week-long silence from both the government and Parliament of Kuwait concerning the murder of a Kuwaiti citizen in Cairo about two months after a Kuwaiti citizen was murdered in the Egyptian city of Tanta, Head of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee MP Abdulkareem Al-Kandari called on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Justice to form a team for studying and following up the two cases and any other issues concerning Kuwaitis in Egypt, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a press statement, MP Al-Kandari said, “I wait for the move of the foreign and justice ministers. The issue will not pass quietly. Another person should not be killed. We do not want embarrassment from our brothers in Egypt. They do not get embarrassment from us when their citizens get hurt”.

He demanded the ministry adopt a clear stance concerning the issues faced by Kuwaitis in Egypt, informing the people about the reality of the security situation there and not only dealing with the murder cases of Kuwaiti citizens.

MP Al-Kandari asked, “Is the security situation in Egypt safe or not? Should we advise our citizens to take certain precautions such as lodging in hotels where security guards are present instead of private housing?” He said the silence since last Thursday indicates the possibility of Kuwait’s embarrassment to talk about the subject, stressing that the murder of two citizens within four months is a high rate.
