Mp Has Presented A Proposal To Establish A Drug Rehabilitation Center

MP Sadoun Hammad Al-Otaibi has presented a proposal to establish a drug rehabilitation center on par with global standards and a research center to determine reasons for the spread of drug addiction in the country.

He explained the remarkable increase in the number of youths addicted to drugs and alcoholic drinks has prompted him to submit the proposal. He pointed out this negative phenomenon has become the concern of society in general and families in particular.

He said those addicted to drugs could harm themselves, their families and society as a whole; hence, the need to address the issue immediately through the establishment of drug rehabilitation and research centers.

He recommended the appointment of competent medical staff hired from abroad to the rehabilitation center, along with the implementation of a system for contracting or periodic visits and provision of necessary equipment. He added the research center will conduct studies to determine reasons for the spread of drugs, ways to prevent or eliminate this social menace and effective treatment methods.
