Mp Riyadh Al-adsani Has Warned The New Gvnmnt Against Appointment Of Officials Based On Favoritism

MP Riyadh Al-Adsani has warned the new government against appointment of officials based on favoritism, claiming HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah played a minor role in the selection of Cabinet members as this task was carried out by the Parliament Speaker and defense minister.

He wondered why the prime minister chose a defense minister who should have been given the economic and development affairs portfolio considering the latter’s interest in the economy, development and Silk City.

He expressed reservation over certain Cabinet appointments like Sheikh Nasser Al- Sabah as Minister of Defense, the state minister for National Assembly Affairs, and designation of one person to handle two ministries – Public Works and Municipality Affairs.

On the other hand, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee MP Hamad Al-Harshani congratulated the new government for gaining the trust of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah, wishing them success in performing their duties. He said the new government was formed amid challenges and dangers surrounding the country; hence, the need for the ministers to be responsible and to cooperate with the Assembly in the ratification of important laws.
