Mp Safa Al-hashem Has Submitted A Bill Demanding The Abolition Of The Ministerial Decree
MP Safa’a Al-Hashem said she has submitted a bill demanding the abolition of the ministerial decree which established the Al-Dora Company for recruitment and employment of domestic workers citing the failure of the company to serve the citizens.
In a press statement, Al-Hashem said that there will also be an amendment to the existing domestic workers law, “and therefore, the state ministries Interior, Foreign Affairs, Social Affairs and Labor and Commerce must adhere to their work,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Committee of the National Assembly met Sunday and decided to recommend the name of MP Adel Al-Damkhi for the post of the committee’s chairman and MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei as Rapporteur.
;
Al-Damkhi said the committee has decided to include on the list of issues the case of bedoun ‘illegal residents’ and everything related to humanitarian issues. He explained the committee then decided to invite the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh to discuss the National Commission for Human Rights.
Al-Damkhi added the committee has decided to visit the Central Prison on Thursday. It has also been agreed to visit any facility which is subjected to human rights violation, including care homes.
On another issue, MP Omar Al-Tabtabaei has stressed that the new government formation is seen as a fl ower garden which is not ambitious in reconciliation. Tabtabaei denounced the failure of the government to submit a limited plan within a time frame. He added, he has forwarded a parliamentary query to all ministers. He said the government must be given an opportunity to follow up on its new formation and vision in implementing its plan of action, which was supposed to be included in a clear timetable for the stability of Kuwait.
In an unrelated issue, MP Mohammed Al-Dalal made known his intention to grill the Minister of Finance Nayef Al-Hajraf if he does not present the economic reform document to the Parliament before Feb 20, 2018. He disclosed he has presented 25 parliamentary queries to the minister concerning the economic document.
;
In one of the queries, he wants to know if the Ministry of Finance will present the financial and economic reform document to the National Assembly during a public session before Feb 20, 2018. He also inquired about the reasons, financial and administrative data on which the Ministry was based in formulating and setting up the results, steps and statements of the financial and economic reform document.
He has asked the minister to identify and clarify the executive plan for the introduction of the financial and economic reform which falls within the priorities of the Ministry of Finance to implement execution decisions of the Council of Ministers. He also asked for reasons and motives for lifting subsidies on gasoline and electricity and other support for citizens.
