Mp Safa Fined For Verbally Assaulting Ex-mp

The Court of Cassation upheld the verdict of the Court of Appeals, which fined MP Safaa Al-Hashim KD150 for verbally assaulting ex-MP Mubarak Al-Duwailah. Case files indicate that Al-Duwailah lodged a compalaint against Al-Hashim on Jan 12, 2014 accusing the latter of posting an insulting statement against him on her Twitter account on Sept 30, 2012.

He stressed that the statement was false and offensive. He indicated the expression used in the post dented his image, so it hurt him. He added the account is public so it was easy for a third party to hack with an impression that the woman was the author of offensive and malicious utterances.
