Municipality Shuts Shop Hosting Gamblers
Emergency Team from Ahmadi Municipality raided a shop in Fahaheel area where some people were gambling, and shut it down administratively. Public Relations Department of the Municipality issued a statement and said the shop violated rules and regulations governing its operation; thus necessary procedures were taken to close it down.
It revealed that team leader Khalid Fadghoush and Inspector Abdullah Al-Mutairi coordinated with security operatives from the Ministry of Interior to carry out the operation. In a similar story, Public Relations Department affiliated to the Capital Municipality reported that officials from Services Investigation and Follow up Department recently embarked on a campaign titled “Renew Your Advertisement in Your Place”.
The inspection campaign covered advertisement and publicity shops, as well as car beautification garages in Shuwaikh. Director of Services Investigation and Follow up Eman Al-Kanderi said the Director General of Kuwait Municipality Engineer Ahmad Al-Manfouhi has been closely monitoring the campaign, saying the officers collected fees on behalf of the Municipality. He noted that 17 citations were issued against unlicensed advertisement and failure to renew licenses.
