Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa has emphasized that the new airport terminal is a complementary project of infrastructure carried out by the State of Kuwait as part of the 'Kuwait 2035' Vision.

The minister made the statement to KUNA Tuesday on the sidelines of laying the cornerstone of the new terminal at Kuwait International Airport that was launched in the presence and patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in the attendance of visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The new terminal would be an airport and a connection point between Kuwait and the world, he added, noting that the State and His Highness the Amir are paying much attention to this project.

His Highness the Premier Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has ordered the formation of a supreme commission to follow up implementing the project periodically so as to remove obstacles, Al-Mutawa said.
He stressed the State's keenness on expanding its airports and their infrastructure, revealing that the new terminal would be accomplished within four years.

When asked about the old terminal, the minister said there are some plans aiming to benefit from this facility as soon as the new one operates.
