No Monopoly In The Import Of Meat

Director General of Livestock at the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs & Fish Resources (PAAAFR) Yousef Al-Najem has refuted claims of monopoly in the import of meat, reports Al Anba daily.

He said the door is open for all companies and citizens owning an enterprise to import meat without impediment, as long as they abide by the health conditions of veterinary quarantines unit at the Livestock Health Department, over and above warranties. Al-Najem said there’s no monopoly at all in the import of meat, adding several enterprises import a large quantity of cattle more than the main company in the industry imports. There are other companies that import sheep and goats to the local market as well.
