Number Of Expats In Public Sector Reached 30 Percent In 2016

24 December 2017 Kuwait

MP Khalil Al-Saleh recently disclosed that the number of expatriates in public sector reached 30 percent in 2016.

The lawmaker noted the current percentage of expatriates working in public sector is a dangerous sign and that government must set things right without any further delay.

He pointed out that the committee for employment and replacements will meet next Monday to discuss the work plan, affirming that Parliament’s approval of his request to form the aforementioned committee is a giant step toward activating the role of the National Assembly to rectify the situation.

He is optimistic that Government will cooperate with the committee to achieve its purpose, stressing “it’s time to suspend indefinitely all new appointments of expatriates in public sector.”
