The Misdemeanor Court has acquitted a warrant officer of Ministry of Interior who was accused of using excessive force on a Kuwaiti citizen during National Day celebrations by allegedly slapping him near Salhiya Police Station. Representing the police officer was Lawyer Abdulmohsen Al-Qattan who explained that his client was manning public order during the National Day celebrations when he spotted the citizen spraying water with a toy gun. His client ordered the plaintiff to stop spraying water, but the latter continued to do so. After warning him several times, his client ordered the plaintiff to disembark from his car and escorted him to the police station of the area on charges of refusing to obey police orders. Lawyer Al-Qattan said the prosecution failed to present any substantial evidences in support of the claims, indicating that the charges were maliciously filed against his client.
