Oman Fans Fall From Upper Tier Of Stadium After Barrier Collapse At Arab Gulf Cup Final

Kuwait City: Several Omani fans were injured after a barrier on an upper tier of the stadium collapsed during the final in Kuwait City.

Oman’s day of triumph at the Arab Gulf Cup turned into horror for some fans after a glass barrier gave way, injuring at least 12 fans at the Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait.

Videos posted to social media show fans at the stadium – many of whom are dressed in traditional Omani garb – falling To the ground in the stadium from the upper tier after the glass barrier unexpectedly gives way.

Emergency services and paramedics were quickly on the spot, and the total number of injured is still being determined.

Oman beat the UAE 5-4 on penalties to win their second Gulf Cup, after both extra time and regulation time finished goalless
