Online Health Insurance For Domestic Workers And Expats From November

Ministry of Interior has announced that it will stop accepting health insurance receipts for domestic workers and other expatriates of visa under Article 20 starting from November.

In a press release, the Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior declared that the ministry will cancel the use of receipts for payment of health insurance and the manual system of paying health insurance fees, as Ministry of Health had launched the online system for payment for health insurance via the website of Ministry of Health www.moh.gov. kw from July 28 for expatriates with all types of residency except those with Article 20 visa who have the option of either paying it online via the website of Ministry of Health or visiting the Residency Affairs office or service centers to make the payment via KNet until Nov 1.

The ministry declared that the payment of health insurance fees via any method other than online will be stopped completely in November. It revealed that there is an electronic link among the authorities concerned with health insurance of expatriates such as Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior and Public Authority for Civil Information in order to reduce bureaucracy and ensure safety of information.

The ministry affirmed that it will depend on the data from the Ministry of Healthā€™s automated health insurance system to complete all procedures for expatriates
