09 March 2017 Crime News

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri has declared that Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) intends to reinstate the subsidy for fodder such that a bag of fodder will cost KD 3.450 instead of the cost of KD 4.200 that was decided recently, reports Arab Times daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al-Jabri affirmed that the fodder subsidy will continue to be given throughout this month, revealing the allocation of a special budget for this purpose.

He indicated that the main reason for lifting the subsidy was the entry of 70,000 cattle belonging to Kuwaiti herders into the country. The minister reiterated that a budget will be allocated next month for PAAAFR to ensure fodder subsidy is offered to herders.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has terminated the services of four Kuwaiti consultants who were hired to work in the minister’s office based on a ministerial decision for a period of one year to be renewed later for four years, says Al-Seyassh.

According to reliable sources, the ministry issued the administrative decision to terminate the services of the Kuwaiti consultants who were hired last June based on special contracts in the place of those who submitted their resignation or were referred for retirement.

These four consultants are Faleh Al-Hubaida, Ahmad Al-Kandari and Mohammad Al-Rakhais and an unidentified consultant in the Commercial Control Sector. The ministerial decision was based on a memo sent by the director of the minister’s office in which the termination of the services of these consultants were recommended without the knowledge of concerned assistant undersecretary and without asking him if he needs their services or not.

This termination notice came before the consultants completed their first year in the ministry. In another development, Kuwait Municipality is considering the possibility of restudying the request of Ministry of Commerce and Industry to use the sites of the two vegetable markets in Al-Rai area behind the plants nurseries for carrying out fish auctions instead of the current location in Mubarakiya area, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources.

They explained that the concerned officials from Kuwait Municipality, with the cooperation of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, visited Al-Rai area in order to choose the appropriate location for holding fish auctions.

They eventually chose the two vegetable markets, identified as H.Z., for fish auctions. And, Ministry of Public Works will decide on the grades of about 800 employees of the ministry who meet the conditions and regulations of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources. They said the move was decided after a meeting of the Personnel Affairs Committee which is headed by Undersecretary of the ministry Eng. Awatif Al-Ghunaim and consists of assistant undersecretaries of the ministry.

The sources indicated that the committee will agree on deciding on the candidates to work in supervisory positions, as heads of departments and directors of departments, and study the annual evaluation reports of the ministry employees.
