Paci Wins Global Award For Its Gif Application

Kuwait's Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has won a global award for its creative Geographic Information System (GIF).

The award was delivered by the founder and owner of the world's largest (GIS) company (ESRI) Jack Dangermond, to the Director Manager of (PACI) Musaad Al-Asousi during a conference held in San Diego, United States from July 9 - 13 with more than 18,000 participants from all around the world.

The award is an evidence of the successful PACI's efforts in developing and using advanced technology such as (Machine Learning) and (Artificial Intelligence), said Al-Asousi in a phone call with KUNA.

The efforts of Kuwaiti expertise in this field helped in gaining this award which will motivate other governmental sectors to improve services provided to both citizens and residents, Al-Asousi added.

The Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system that helps (PACI) to do its role in more effective manner by using the best and latest technologies in connecting maps with data of buildings and entities registered in the civil information systems, he said.

The system facilitates identification of all types of governmental, commercial, service building, and residential units, as well as agricultural, industrial, sports building and others by simply providing the detailed address or part of it or entering the automatic address number.

Al-Asousi affirmed that the application benefits (PACI) and other government agencies due to the expanded scope of maps covered by the program.
