Pakistani Conjoined Twins Successfully Separated In Riyadh

The medical team announced today the successful separation surgery undergone by Pakistani conjoined twins, Fatima and Masha el, at King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children at King Abdulaziz Medical City, which is affiliated to the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh. 

An advisor at the Royal Court and Head of the Medical Team Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah explained that multiple medical tests were done on the twins, which showed that they were conjoined at the lower chest and abdomen, and shared the same chest wall and liver.

He also said that the tests showed the possibility of separating the twins at a success rate of 80%.
