Pha Committee Has Rejected The Proposal To Grant Rent Allowance To Kuwaiti Women Married To Non-kuwaitis
The parliamentary Housing Affairs Committee has rejected the proposal to grant rent allowance to Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis and are receiving social support from the Ministry of Social Affairs, as well as the divorced Kuwaiti women and widows who have no house.
The parliamentary Interior and Defense Affairs Committee approved the proposal to stop issuing driving licenses to expatriates for the first time for one year, except the domestic workers (Article 20 visa). The committee also endorsed the proposal for the Interior and Defense ministries to accept the children and grandchildren of Bedoun militarymen.
The Kuwait Lawyers Association (KLA) has submitted a complaint to the assistant undersecretary for Reformatory Affairs in the Ministry of Interior against some prison guards who are allegedly promoting certain lawyers by distributing these lawyers’ business cards to prisoners, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In the complaint, the association claimed that the prison guards are convincing prisoners to leave their lawyers and seek the services of the lawyers they recommended — contrary to military customs and traditions.
The association stressed the need to take legal action to stop such unscrupulous acts. Furthermore, the revenues of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) increased after taking procedures to regulate the labor market about KD 37 million from April 1 to Sept 30, 2017.
