Postal Stamps Forging Gang Arrested

24 October 2015 Kuwait

A mob specialized in forging and selling government stamps was arrested, Interior Ministry announced Friday. Some 4,000 "highly-forged" KD-10 stamps, worth KD 40,000 were confiscated, said a ministry statement, noting that the stamps were copied in a way undetectable for the untrained eye.

The person in charge of the production process, as well as vendors tasked with loading the counterfeit stamps into designated machines are now under custody, noted the statement.

"Clamping down on this network is a mighty blow for whoever attempts to fiddle with the country's national economy," said Ministry Undersecretary Lt. Gen. Suleiman Al-Fahad after inspecting premises of the company where the stamps were printed.

The ministry, in the statement, urged all concerned not to hesitate in reporting any suspected stamps in order to help speed up the investigation and confiscation process.
