Revenues Of The Pam No Longer Dependent On State Budget
Revenues of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in the 2017/2018 fiscal year exceeded KD 54 million, reports Al-Rai daily. In a press release, the Vice-Director for Human Resources and Financial Affairs at the authority Eng Khuloud Al-Shihab explained that the authority collected fees worth KD 54,638,324 for completion of transactions since April 1, 2017.
The authority is no longer dependant on the state budget, as it has become a source of income for the state. She revealed that there are charges for making any correction to work permits, adding that, “In case the error occurred due to the mistake of the employees of the authority, the charges will be refunded in accordance with the specified procedures”.
Eng Al-Shihab indicated the dire need to establish an automated electronic interface with Egypt in order to rectify the labor market and tackle the demographic misbalance in Kuwait. She explained that the process of establishing the interface is ongoing smoothly.
The second stage has already finished with the training of the employees of Ministry of Manpower in Egypt and installing necessary systems there.
They are now waiting to input the data of Egyptian laborers who are seeking to work in Kuwait in order to test the system and then launch the third and final stage.
In addition, Eng Al-Shihab indicated about agreements in the near future for the approval of the professional skills measures at the official body for professional accreditation in India in order to identify the skill levels required from Indian laborers who are seeking to work in Kuwait.
