Robbery Ends In Murder - Maid Said To Confess
A maid, identified only as A.M., her brother and sister have been detained for interrogation in the murder of a Kuwaiti man in Egypt who was in his 80s, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, the Kuwaiti was suffocated to death in Giza Thursday night. According to Giza Security Directorate the maid called the police and informed that three unknown persons had intruded in the Giza neighborhood and killed the Kuwaiti. The Egyptian police rushed to the apartment and found no injuries on the corpse of the victim but it was apparent that he died of suffocation since his mouth was gagged with an adhesive tape.
The sources added: “At the time of the maid’s investigation, a security group was reviewing surveillance cameras installed on the street to refer to the Prosecution and at this time the maid collapsed and admitted that she, her brother and sister had planned for some time to steal the valuables from the victim who owned in the apartment, but not to murder him.” The sources added that the maid “confessed that she informed her brothers identified only as T. and H. about her intention to ransack the apartment after the arrival of the victim in Cairo.” Her brother, who did not want to get directly involved into the act, changed the plan and instead made use of his three friends to keep the suspicion away from him and his sister of breaking into the apartment.
The sources added the maid, according to her testimony opened the door for the suspects and pretended not to know them. The suspects then tied both the maid and the victim so that the victim (the Kuwaiti who died) should not believe that she knew the suspects. The men then gagged the mouth of the victim with an adhesive tape, and in spite of his age, the victim tried to resist their attempts. The men then looted whatever, they could lay their hands on, including the maid’s phone so as not to leave behind any suspicion and escaped. The loot included 1,000 Egyptian pounds, $500 and KD 30
