Some Benefits Overlooked As People Blame Technology For Rifts In Society
In light of talks about the disadvantages of technology and how modern technological devices have isolated children and adults from their societies, many have overlooked one of the most important advantages of technology, which benefits a segment of Kuwaiti society, namely, the people with disabilities, reports Al-Rai daily.
People with special needs have found their way to e-learning, and their return to science is no longer a problem. Physical disability and disease is not a barrier between them and education, development and treatment. Modern technology has helped to integrate them into society.
In an interview with Al Rai, the Acting Director of the Systems and Software Development Department at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), Noura Al Ghurair, highlighted the achievements of the Institute in providing technical support to persons with disabilities from programs for all those who provide services to this category in Kuwait.
The Department of Technical Support for Persons with Disabilities has been working in Kuwait since 1985. It provides all kinds of technical support to those providing services to persons with disabilities in Kuwait, the blind, the deaf, learning difficulties, autism and all forms of disability.
