Summons Issued To Six In School Shooting

Hours after the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah issued orders to form a commission of inquiry into the quarrel and shooting incident at a foreign school in Maidan Hawalli, security sources told the Al-Anba daily the committee comprises members from the Criminal Investigation Department, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources.

The sources said summons have been issued to at least six people, including a school official, security guards and Kuwaitis who were on the school premises to attend the ceremony to listen to their testimonies in an attempt to identify the guilty.

The sources pointed out that the preliminary investigation, which is very clear, shows that a detective acted with undue violence with young people at that age of life and was arrogant and allegedly grabbed them and was the subject of examination and scrutiny by the Hawalli interrogators. The youths did not break into the school as has been rumored, but tried to enter through the main door but had no invitation cards.

The sources confirmed that the investigation committee, as well as the investigation team, plan to summon more than 20 witnesses to prepare a detailed report on the circumstances and also recommend disciplinary action against the parties to the quarrel. In the meantime, the source confirmed that the captain and the officer who were involved in the incident are still in detention until the completion of the investigations and referral of the case to the Public Prosecution
