Syrian Forged Official Documents

Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports exposed a Syrian national who forged official documents to secure dependent visa for his wife and son. An Interior Ministry press statement indicated the Residency Affairs Department discovered a Syrian national earning KD 200 monthly had secured dependent visa for his wife and son without fulfilling relevant conditions and investigation revealed that the suspect obtained approval of the visa application by exploiting another expatriate who happens to be his namesake, without the person’s knowledge. Statement indicated the suspect managed to deceive an official at the Residency Affairs Department by presenting the civil ID of the other person to complete the transaction. It added necessary steps have since been taken to refer the suspect to concerned authorities for further investigation.
