The Cabinet Approves A Draft Decree On The Employment Of Domestic Workers Between Kuwait And The Philippines

The Council of Ministers approved a draft law amending Article 14 of Law No. (19) for the year 2000 regarding the support of national labor and encourage them to work in non-governmental organizations and to present it to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In preparation for its referral to the National Assembly.

This came during a weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday at the Palace of a statement headed by His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, during which he briefed the Council on the recommendation contained in the minutes of the meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee on a draft law amending the said article in order to intensify the penalty prescribed for those who prove his violation of the provisions of this law To imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years and a fine not exceeding five thousand dinars and not less than one thousand dinars or one of these penalties.

The Council discussed the recommendation of the Committee on the amendment of the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the determination of the proportion of national employment in non-governmental bodies and the Council decided to approve it.

The Council of Ministers also reviewed the Committee’s recommendation on a draft decree approving the agreement on the employment of domestic workers between the Government of Kuwait and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines. The Council of Ministers approved the draft decree and submitted it to His Highness the Amir.
