The Egyptian Coptic Church In Kuwait Held A Christmas Mass
The Egyptian Coptic Church in Kuwait held a Christmas mass in Hawally in the presence of the Patron of the church Archbishop Anba Bishoy Bigol and Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Tarek Elkouny as well as a large number of worshippers and wellwishers headed by the Deputy State Minister for Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah and several public figures, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
On behalf of the Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi, Ambassador Elkouny congratulated the Christian Egyptian community in Kuwait on the occasion of Christmas. He thanked the church for inviting him to the celebration, revealing that he, since the time he took office two months ago, has been noticing the level of contributions made by the Egyptian community in various public and private bodies in Kuwait.
;The ambassador praised the sisterly relations between Kuwait and Egypt. Elkouny said, “During such an event, we have to recall the principles of all divine religions such as peace and tolerance which are not limited to just the believers but extends to the entire human race”. He stressed the importance of boosting the level of peace and tolerance especially in the current period which is witnessing the widespread of extremism and terrorism.
Elkouny offered his condolences for the victims of various terrorist attacks including the recent terror attack at Mary Mina Church. He concluded by thanking Kuwait particularly the political leadership and the people of Kuwait for the continuous care they show the Egyptian community in Kuwait, which indicate the strength of sisterly relations between the two countries. Meanwhile, Archbishop Anba Bishoy Bigol stressed the importance of upholding the teachings and principles of Jesus Christ such as peace, love, tolerance and coexistence, insisting that such teachings will never change irrespective of the time and place.
