Traffic Department Issued 39,622 Tickets Last Week

In a series of surprise security campaigns conducted across the six governorates from July 19-25, officers from the General Traffic Department issued 39,622 traffic citations, impounded 2,165 vehicles, and detained 30 motorists for various traffic offenses. An Interior Ministry press release said the department has deported some 13 expatriates who were caught driving without license.

It confirmed the security campaign will continue in an unspecified period to sustain public security and to ensure that motorists abide by the traffic rules and regulations to put an end to traffic violations.
