Traffic Department Seized 2,400 Cars, 51 Bikes
General Traffic Department launched surprise traffic campaigns from Nov 8 to Nov 14 in all six governorates during which they issued 49,556 citations, seized 2,400 vehicles and 51 motorbikes, arrested 95 individuals who committed serious traffic violations and referred 12 expatriates for deportation for driving without driving licenses.
In a press statement, the department affirmed that such sudden traffic campaigns will continue to be held in all places to control the traffic on main and internal roads, to ensure road users abide by the rules and regulations of the country and to uphold the safety of Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates.
Meanwhile, the Specialized Training Center affiliated to the General Traffic Department concluded a one-week course on traffic law for police officers which covered topics on technical inspection, lane discipline, traffic law, dealing with traffic accidents, dealing with public, etc. About 20 police officers participated in the course. Such courses are part of the 2015/2016 training schedule of Ministry of Interior with the aim of improving the skills of the officers.
At the end of the course, the trainees appreciated the lectures through which they attained more information and their skills were improved, which will in turn help them in serving the country in a better manner.
