Traffic Fines Resulted In The Collection Of Kd 140 Million
In follow-ups on violations and traffic fines resulted in the collection of KD140 million in the past two years as well as the collection of KD26 million electronically during fiscal 2015/2016 — an increase of 57 percent compared to the previous year, Al-Fahad revealed.
He also underscored the fact that dispensation and exemption of leased buildings in the rationalization drive resulted in savings of about KD 2 million. He stressed that working on a database of local and international wanted persons and fugitives will help security systems obtain criminal and terror information promptly. He then cited improvement of security performance and supporting security operatives as factors for ensuring the safety of regional waters.
He pointed out two naval units have been received and arrangements to import two others will be done in August. He added eight of 29 exceptional boats will be delivered successively while the agreement to purchase four Airbus Eurocopters has been signed and these copters will come into service one after the other as of July. The undersecretary affirmed that 2,700 patrols joined patrol and traffic service in 2015 whereas 883 patrols were received and put into service in March.
