Two Dead While Running Away From Police

Two citizens, 29 and 26, sustained serious injuries and later died when they lost control over their vehicle and it rolled over several times in a desert area off Al-Salmi highway. The men had the accident while attempting to escape from a weapon inspection patrol, said security sources. The source explained that the men saw the patrol light its flashers and sound its siren to stop them, because they had been spotted hunting with air-pressure rifles. They immediately drove off into a desert area where they lost control over the vehicle. However, on arriving at the scene, paramedics found that the two young men were already dead. Initial investigations showed that there was no contact between the patrol car and the suspects’ vehicle and what happened was an accident. However, security sources stressed that the interior ministry intends to conduct further investigations to make sure the patrol force acted within the law without any abuse of powers or law violations.
