Us Approves Sale Of Hellfire Missiles To Kuwait

US State Department has approved a possible sale to Kuwait of 300 AGM-114R Hellfire missiles, and related equipment, for an estimated cost of $30.4 million, reports arabianbusiness.com.

According to a statement, the Government of Kuwait has requested to buy missiles plus 19 rocket launchers, spare parts, personnel training and support services. The proposed sale improves Kuwait’s capability to meet current and future threats, the statement said, adding that Kuwait will use the missiles to strengthen its homeland defence. This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the security of a regional partner. The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin Corporation, based in Florida.
