Western Part Of The Fifth Ring Road Opened

Director General for Public Authority for Road and Land Transportation Eng Ahmad Al-Hissan has officially opened the western part of the Fifth Ring Road development project in the presence of the Executive Director of the authority Eng Dhari Khalifa.

In his statement, Eng Al- Hissan stressed that this part is the important section of the project, which contains three phases. He indicated that the completion of the first phase of the project was achieved through the hard work of the project team, which continued for two years to open bridges that would contribute in easing the traffic movement for motorists, and increasing efficiency of the roads.

Eng Al-Hissan affirmed that the authority has been striving to develop and upgrade the roads in a manner to cope with any future changes. He said the part that has been opened consists of two main intersections that link Sixth Ring Road and Fifth Ring Road from Doha Intersection. Eng Al-Hissan stressed that the importance of the project lies in easing the traffic movement on Fifth Ring Road, and increasing the safety, security and efficiency of the roads, which are considered as the main veins of traffic movement in the country.

He declared the intention of the authority to launch the second phase of the project before the end of this year, and to launch the final phase, which is the main stage of the project, by the end of next year.
