Workers Prohibited To Work In Open Areas Starting From June 1 - Pam
Acting Director General of Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Ahmad Al-Mousa said the authority, based on provisions of the private sector Labor Law No. 6/2010 and in compliance with the international conventions, has issued a decision to prohibit employers from making their workers work in open areas from 11am to 4 pm from June 1 to Aug 31 of each year, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Al-Mousa said the decision refers to open places where it is difficult to perform work under the harsh weather conditions during that period. He urged employers to abide by the provisions of this decision in order to avoid being held legally accountable.
Meanwhile, Director General of Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport Engineer Ahmad Al-Hissan announced that all roads, bridges and services within the vicinity of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital and the Ministries Zone in South Surra are 10 percent complete.
In a press release, Engineer Al- Hissan explained those projects are among the major ventures the authority embarked upon to upgrade and improve the road network and to reduce traffic congestion through the bridges, tunnels and intersections.
He declared the projects are going on steadily in all stages of execution due to cooperation and coordination among all relevant authorities.
He revealed that works have commenced on basic services necessary for the projects, which include a massive reservoir for rain water in front of Sheikh Jaber Hospital to avoid flood in case of rain and storms.
He stated the main 43,000 cubic-meter capacity service project is being executed for the first time, and sewage lines 800 meters long were constructed for two tunnels below the ground level, with manholes at both sides of the Sixth Ring Road, in addition to foundation laying, wall and ceiling for the main gutters in front of Sheikh Jaber Hospital.
