HARMONY IN THE CITY

“Harmony in the City” is an art exhibition that is being held at Masaha 13 art gallery till February 28th. The exhibition will be a platform for initiating dialogue on urban issues at the global and personal scale, with the art representations ranging across performative art, dye-sublimation prints, painting, social media, video and mixed media digital photo works.
The artists are from Kuwait, India, Lebanon and USA, and all explore Kuwait as a case study for urban research and development. The participating artists are: Clark Stoeckley, Houssam I. Flayhan, Jasmine Singh, Jassim AlNashmi, Jawaher Al Bader, Roma Madam Soni, William Andersen and the world-renowned contemporary Indian artist, Vivan Sundaram.
The issues range across food systems, human experience, transportation, climate change, energy and environmental depletion. While these issues have been explored by scholars from wide ranging disciplines there has yet to be a holistic exploration and representation of these interconnected ideas. Our art and research seeks to address this gap, with our attempt to present a holistic synthesis of emerging ideas in the search for a post oil metropolis.
