Without A MIC

Over hundreds of years, music has been played unamplified (without microphone, speakers, or sound mixers), which gave it high purity, and brought the sensation of music to the audience directly. Based on this, the Western orchestras rely on the acoustics of the theatre and the distribution of instruments to drop completely technological influences.

In Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre, we present this concert, an unprecedented experience in contemporary Arabic music, where musical ensembles have never faced the audience without microphones, either for singers or instrument players; an experience that requires a special method of performance to deliver the idea and the music successfully with minimal barriers.

Hoping for the best results, we aim to repeat this experience in the upcoming seasons, so that Kuwait and Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre will be the first to introduced Arabic musical classics in a form consistent with its nature and in line with the standards of western classical music.

In this concert, the audience will listen to a collection of classical Arabic songs and melodies, written by leading composers including Sayed Darwish, Mohamed Al-Qasabgi, Riad Al-Sunbati, Mohamed Abdel Wahab and Zakaria Ahmed. Their songs will be presented by the talented voices: Iman Baqi and Tarek Bashir. They will sing in a new way carrying the original Arabic music spirit to the audience.
