3 Foreign Boats Seized

Environment Police in coordination with the Coast Guard Department and the Environment Monitoring Department affiliated to the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAFR) seized three foreign boats, which had violated the ban on fishing using nets, eight miles from Ouha Island. According to sources, the concerned authorities dealt with the violators appropriately and confiscated the fishing nets and equipment. Two other boats were seized for fishing in the Kuwaiti Bay.

Even though the suspects tried to escape, the Coast Guard officers managed to catch them and confiscate their licenses. The officers also chased four boats near Failaka Island and managed to arrest them near Kuwait Towers, as they had violated the ban on fishing within the Kuwaiti Bay. All arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities
