Kuwaiti Team Installs Buoys To Protect Coral Reefs Near Kubbar Island
Three buoys were installed to protect coral reefs and marine life east of Kubbar Island, one of several islands dotting the Kuwaiti sea territorial waters, said a statement by Kuwait diving team on Monday.Head of the team's operations Faisal Al-Harban told KUNA that the buoys were installed to protect coral reefs, five nautical miles east Kubbar Island.
He noted that the team pays regular visits to the location to prevent any damage to the corals, considered amongst the most fascinating coral reefs in Kuwaiti waters.Al-Harban urged fisherman to avoid leaving waste and fish nets in the sea to prevent any environmental damage and to preserve the beauty of marine life.
The Kuwaiti authorities have devoted particular attention to protecting the coral reefs in the territorial waters. Efforts have been exerted to protect them from such irresponsible acts and bleaching.
