Asians Infected With Coronavirus Rises To 64 In 6 Days
Kuwait reported the highest number of coronavirus infection cases in one day on April 1 with 28 persons, since the announcement of the first cases of coronavirus in Kuwait on February 24. Out of the 28, 27 cases were recorded belong to the Asians that reside in Kuwait, bringing the total number of cases among Asians to 76, with 58 Indians, 9 Filipinos, 8 Bangladeshis and one Nepali and the cases also increasing among those under observation.
The numbers of coronavirus infections among Asians jumped to reach 64 cases within 6 days only, 47 of whom are people who are under observation, while the rest of the cases include 7 cases of unknown contact, and 10 cases of travel related contact and 3 of which are related to travel to India, 3 travel to Jordan, 3 travel to Azerbaijan, and one who returned from the UK.
Informed sources revealed that 10 cases of contact with suspected Asian workers were transferred from one of the buildings in Fahaheel area to a residential building in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, which is being used as a quarantine for Asian workers who came into contact with coronavirus cases.
The sources stated that this step “comes within the framework of the precautionary measures against the coronavirus and aims to limit the number of cases involved. The Ministry of Health is looking into finding more than one place to quarantine these cases of expatriate workers suspected of being infected with the coronavirus, including from buildings in Mahboula, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Salmiya.
