Boubyan Bank Outlast Kuwait Steel
The Latin American stars swept everybody off their feet by proving their presence as star players in the 39th edition of late Abdullah Meshari Al-Roudhan Ramadan Futsal Tournament that concluded Wednesday evening.
Argentine and Brazilian professional players were on top of the final scene as Boubyan Bank qualified for the final match with the duo of Tango Maxi and Giggy. Gulf Cables also qualified with Samba players Fambita and Bola.
The current edition is unique with almost 100 professional players from various nationalities. Arab players also registered their presence with Al-Etihad and Al-Ahli of Libya, Kuwait Steel, in addition to Bahraini and Iraqi players who played for different teams such as My Fatourah and Al-Medhmar.
In the semifinal matches, Boubyan Bank overcame the sad exit of their Argentine star Giggy in the early hours of the game due to an injury. The team defeated Kuwait Steel in a game that was decided by penalty shootouts after the full time ended 1-1.
The same scenario was repeated in the second match when Gulf Cables crushed Just Clean through penalty shootouts. The latter was close to victory by maintaining the early two goals scored by Josico and Fernando. However, Gulf Cables turned the table against their opponents when Fambita scored a brace to make it a draw.
