Police officers of the Cypriot party town of Ayia Napa arrested nine Kuwaitis and a Saudi Thursday evening for investigation after a bloody fight with a similar number of British holidaymakers that left two of the latter with bruises and a stab wound. They were taken to a hospital for treatment

Shocking footage taken by a pedestrian tourist at the scene shows a group of men engaged in a vicious fight at the poolside of a tourist resort, which quickly escalates to a busy road.

Even as the cause of the brawl is yet to be determined, the video captured a group of about 20 men engaged in verbal and physical altercation, in which two men identified as British tourists were seen on the ground being kicked and trampled by other men. In another scene, a man is seen stabbing one of them.

The nine Kuwaitis and the Saudi were arrested by local police following the incident, while the two British tourists were taken to a hospital and later discharged, although they might be summoned by the police to help in the investigation.

The Cypriot Ambassador to Kuwait Charalambos Hadjisavvas confirmed arrest of the nine Kuwaitis and a Saudi on one side, and 10 British tourists on the other side. The ambassador mentioned that the cause of the brawl has yet to be established although the outcome of investigation will be determined in the next few days.

According to sources, the Kuwait Embassy in Cyprus is following-up the issue and has mandated its attorneys to engage the relevant authorities to conduct investigation and find a way of resolving the case, and reassure the condition of those who were injured.
