Court Sentenced 15 Yrs Imprisonment For 2 Persons Who Was Accused In Cash Fraud

The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Mutib Al-Ardhi sentenced the first and second defendants in the case of embezzlement at Kuwait & Gulf Link Transport Co (KGL) Abdullah Al-Shamali and Mohammed Ahmed Mutawa respectively to 15-year imprisonment with hard labor, reports Al-Rai daily. The court demanded them to return embezzled funds of KD 17.911 million and ordered them to pay fine worth double the amount (KD 35.822 million). The court sentenced the third defendant Saeed Dashti to 15-year imprisonment and the fourth defendant Lazareva Maria, a Russian national, to ten-year imprisonment and demanded her to return KD 11 million. The court ordered them both to pay fine worth KD 22 million. Furthermore, the court sentenced the fifth defendant Ahmed Naseeb to 10-year imprisonment, and ordered him to return KD 2.150 million and pay fine worth twice the amount (KD 4.3 million). In addition, Mousa Bahman, the sixth defendant, has been sentenced to seven years in prison. He was ordered to return KD 76.2 million and pay fine worth double the amount (KD 152.4 million). The seventh defendant Majid Jasim was sentenced to ten-year imprisonment, ordered to return KD 4 million, and fined twice the amount (KD 8 million).
