Court Sentenced An Egyptian To 5 Years Imprisonment For Molesting The Daughter Of A Compatriot

14 July 2017 Crime News

The Court of Appeals cancelled the verdict of the First Instance Court which sentenced an Egyptian to five years in prison with hard labor, to be followed by deportation, for molesting the daughter of a compatriot inside the elevator. The higher court refrained from imposing penalty on the accused. The victim testified that she was inside the elevator of the residential building in Salmiya where she lives with her family when the Egyptian watchman touched sensitive parts of her body with the intention of raping her. She pushed him away so he fled from the scene. Attorney Abdulmuhsen Al-Qattan, who represented the accused in court, demanded for acquittal of his client citing the contradicting statements of the plaintiff and lack of incriminating evidence.
