Court Sentenced Death To A Citizen For Killing Lance Corporal Turki Al-anzi

The Criminal Court sentenced a citizen to death for killing Lance Corporal Turki Al-Anzi as he deliberately ran over the victim during the National Day celebration. The court said the accused adopted the extremist ideology and attempted to kill as many securitymen as possible.

The Public Prosecution charged the citizen with deliberately running over with the intention to kill a number of securitymen who were on duty at a security checkpoint during the National Day celebration. The prosecution disclosed the accused used his vehicle which he prepared to commit the crime. The prosecution said the accused drove fast towards the securitymen who were standing at Dasman Roundabout.

He ran over Al-Anzi many times causing injuries mentioned in the Forensic report and these injuries led to the death of the latter. The prosecution added that the accused ran over five other securitymen who were rescued and given proper medical care.
