Court Stays 10 Years Jail For Special Forces Seven

The Court of Cassation, headed by Judge Abdullah Jassem, has upheld the verdict of the Court of Appeals and sentenced seven 7 members of the Special Forces affiliated to the Ministry of Interior to various jail terms, ordered them to pay the value of the weapons and discharged them from service, reports Al-Jarida daily. The lower court had earlier sentenced the men to imprisonment ranging from seven to 10 years, paying the value of the ‘stolen’ weapons and dismissed them from service. The Public Prosecution had charged the men with stealing weapons and selling each stolen weapon for KD 400. The men had denied the charge although some of them were caught red-handed in possession of the stolen weapons.
